Brunch and a DIY

Oh man – what a long day! So I started my day by making a sausage, sweet potato, and kale breakfast casserole. It sounds like kind of a weird combo but it was AMAZING! Here is a pre-oven shot. I forgot to take a picture of it on my plate because I was too busy shoving it in my face.

I was so pumped after brunch that I decided to tackle a project that has been on the to-do list for a while (as in like three years) stripping and repainting my little coffee table. It’s such a cute little table – I experimented on it six years ago when I went through a blue-green-white-wash phase.

Here is a pic of it:

The brown freckled dog is my Jackie, the giant on the couch is Sheldon. I was baby sitting him for the day 🙂

Anyway,  I drug that table outside and put the paint stripper on it. So at this point I should tell you that I have never stripped a piece of furniture before. I honestly thought I would put that goo on there and that paint would just fall off. I had shit everywhere.

OH MY GOODNESS. I am insane. Three layers of paint and several hours later and I’m only to here. Ugh! Whoever painted it red, intended for it to stay that way!

Day one – table 1, Brandi 0.

So wow you guys – I may have bitten off more than I can chew. If anybody has any tips, I’d love to hear them!!

Until next time – cheers!
